I have been busy these past few months. 

I've been working on a new book. 

What Is Told: A Conglomeration of Confabulations will launch sometime this autumn. It's about a year behind schedule, due to various real-life problems (I have a full-time day job, and that is probably the largest problem of them all, because working forty hours a week with occasional overtime limits the time and energy I have for my creative work even when I am working from home rather than commuting to the office), but I have not abandoned it. I'm about 2/3 done with it now.

What Is Told is my current passion project. It started as a small collection of clean short stories written for my offspring, so they would be able to read something of mine without being traumatized for life. But it grew. It is now a matryoshka doll of nested stories within stories, within the frame of a third-rate author falling asleep in a Renaissance Faire pub tent and getting into a deep discussion of writing technique with Geoffrey Chaucer's ghost. Or maybe a hallucination of Geoffrey Chaucer. Or maybe Chaucer himself. I leave that unclear. 

Some of the stories are magical realism, some are slipstream, some are dreampunk. Some are reinventions of stories from The Canterbury Tales, The Decameron, and The 1001 Nights. The one I'm working on now is a Sapphic reinvention of "Prince Kamar and Princess Budur" from The 1001 Nights. 

After I get this project finished and launched, I'll get back to work on Philosophy in Portland, a kinky Sapphic romcom that is "Lydia's" story (remember "Lydia" from Ancilla?) and then I'll get to work on Soror Mystica, Ancilla's sequel.
